01 - Preheat oven to 350°F.
02 - Without separating the rolls, slice the entire block of Hawaiian rolls horizontally to create a top and bottom half.
03 - Place the bottom half on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Layer cheese slices evenly over the bottom half. Add bacon or tomato if using.
04 - Cover with the top half of the rolls. Brush the tops liberally with melted butter.
05 - Cover loosely with foil and bake for 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
06 - Uncover and bake for an additional 3–5 minutes, until tops are golden brown. Remove from oven, let cool 2 minutes, then separate into individual sandwiches and serve warm.
